Montana's Ground Water Information Center stores well logs, hydrographs, maps, and water-quality information. We use those records as clues, then compare them with the actual parcel. We mark the proposed well, septic tank, drainfield, sewer lines, property boundary, road, utility route, and equipment access. DNRC's landowner guide gives baseline well distances, while Missoula County or DEQ can set stricter conditions. We can flag a conflict for the owner, driller, sanitarian, or county planner. We do not perform a legal survey or approve a lot layout.
